Vulnerability Assessments

A New Security Model The benchmark for security in our society is undergoing a huge metamorphosis. The new benchmark will be, in many ways, similar to the military and federal government high-security models of security, since paramilitary style forces threaten us. ASA possesses vital experience in actually applying antiterrorism risk reduction methodologies.

Unique, Scientific Approach to Managing Security Risk We are experts in the application of risk and vulnerability methodologies, such as: the Vulnerability Assessment Methodology (VAM), Risk Assessment Methodology (RAM),
) Homeland Security Comprehensive Assessment Model (HLS-CAM), Systems Security Engineering Management (SSEM), and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).

We can customize the application of these methodologies, or use them in tandem, for an extremely powerful combination to manage0 security risk. This makes it possible to achieve the most cost-effective mix of natural environmental measures, electromechanical security equipment, and people. The process has four major phases:

Phase 1 Vulnerability “Risk” Assessment

  • addresses security vulnerabilities and potential or existing consequences associated with them.

Phase 2 Prioritized Mitigation Plan

  • outlines options for mitigating the vulnerabilities and associated risk with security measures and equipment such as:
building access; building layout; lighting; emergency egress; security cameras; alarm systems, information protection
    policy, and security personnel.

Phase 3 System Acquisition

  • covers security system purchasing and construction management.

Phase 4 System Implementation

  • (the people phase) ensures success by establishing applicable work rules and procedures and conducting necessary
    training.

In short, The Process produces cost-effective, predictable, quality results.
Since 1994, ASA has conducted numerous Vulnerability Assessments for Critical Infrastructure (including Water/Wastewater and Power Utilities), Government and Military Facilities, and, Private Industry throughout the US.
